Tell me this isn't one of the best messages to receive:
"Hey. So-And-So are looking for a colourist/mixer/post super (insert your job). You interested?'
Imagine another 80 friends sending you messages like this, out of the blue.
That would be handy, right?
Especially since we both know most jobs and projects are never advertised.
Q1. Wait, what? What is this?
A1. It's an invite.
To a fantastic new post production event.
A residential one.
You could call it a conference but that sounds dry AF.
You could call it a retreat but that sounds sort of wanky.
You could call it an adventure but we're not seven.
Instead, I give you:
The Wanky Retreat Adventure for Post Production Professionals
Or, for short,
WRAPPP
If you're reading this, you're hereby invited.
(And if your boss, nan or accountant asks, the W stands for 'Worky', all right?)
Q2. That's lovely and all, but what actually is it?
A2. It's a 2-day residential event for fantastic post people, held in a delightful hotel about an hour from London. You know, in The Countryside.
Some workshops you'll actually find useful.
Some activities you'll actually find enjoyable.
And some Mandatory Organised Fun you might, in fact, find fun.
Yes, you might have to do some TEAM BUILDING things like a fist of fools in The Apprentice whose team name is GRAVITAS.
But none of this guff like standing up and sharing what your power animal is AND WHY. TELL US WHY, MALCOLM. SPEAK UP MALCOLM WE CAN'T HEAR YOU.
Think pub quiz instead.
More than anything, it’s a networking event for post production unlike any other in the UK. Maybe even the Commonwealth.
Thankfully, one that doesn't make you want to gouge your eyes off with awkward small talk.
It's a relaxed environment to make new, helpfully influential friends in the industry.
But “networking event” = allowable business expense, see?
Basically, it’s a festival where you’ll learn practical, useful stuff - like how to get repeat clients or higher wages - and meet excellent people like yourself.
Q. I need details. When? Where? How much? QUICKLY, I’ve got 500,000 things to do today.
- Monday - Wednesday, 2nd - 4th Feb 2026.
- Horwood House hotel, Buckinghamshire
- Tickets range from £3,000 down to £1,000, if you get in early.
- You’re very brusque, you know.
Q. A GRAND? WHAT?
Yes, I never said it was going to be cheap. It’s two days in the 4 star hotel pictured below, with targeted training and that. Workshops on, eg:
- how to get (more) clients,
- how to get those clients to come back,
- AI tools to use and avoid,
- how to market yourself in a way that doesn’t make you want to cry into your cupped hands.
All specific to post.
All in the company of people who could prove very helpful for you to know.
If it seems like a lot, you can spread the cost.
Besides, all this stuff is getting more and more important.
Give me 2 minutes of your time and I’ll explain why.
